Syracuse, NY (April 12, 2012) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have assigned
Emerson Etem to the Crunch.
Etem, 19, was assigned to the Crunch following the conclusion of his season with the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL). The right winger is eligible to play the remainder of the season with the Crunch. The Long Beach, California native totaled 107 points (61g, 46a) in 65 games during the Tigers regular season. Etem led the Canadian Hockey League (WHL, OHL, QMJHL) in goals (61), short-handed goals (10) and co-led the CHL in game-winning goals (11). Etem contributed 13 points (7g, 6a) in seven playoff games with Medicine Hat. The Ducks drafted Etem in the first round, 29
th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Additionally, the Ducks reassigned right wing
Dale Mitchell to the Crunch from the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Mitchell appeared in five playoff games with the Royals recording two points (1g, 1a). The winger had appeared in two games with the Crunch this season going scoreless with two penalty minutes.
The Crunch continue their push into the Calder Cup Playoffs in Rochester on Friday, April 13 and return to the War Memorial for their regular season home finale against the Connecticut Whale on April 14 .
