Ducks Acquire Ryan O'Marra for Bryan Rodney

Syracuse, NY (February 16, 2012) –The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have acquired center Ryan O'Marra from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman Bryan Rodney.

O'Marra, 24, played in 40 games with the Oklahoma City Barons totaling 17 points (8g, 9a) and 58 penalty minutes this season.  The 6-2, 220 pound center has appeared in 31 NHL contests with the Edmonton Oilers, collecting seven points (1g, 6a). O'Marra was originally drafted by the New York Islanders, 15th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Rodney, 27, appeared in 41 games for the Crunch this season scoring 20 points (5g, 15a). Signed by  Anaheim as a free agent on July 5, 2011, Rodney has collected 156 career AHL points (29g, 127a) in 280 games with Hartford, Albany, Charlotte and Syracuse. Rodney also played in 33 NHL contests with Carolina earning 13 points (1g, 12a) and 12 penalty minutes.

The Crunch are currently on the road for back-to-back games against the Norfolk Admirals on February 17 and February 18. The Crunch will return home on February 21 to take on the Worcester Sharks at the War Memorial.
