Game Notes: 2/02/08 v. San Antonio Rampage

Syracuse, NY (February 2, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch and the San Antonio Rampage battled through 65 minutes of hard fought game action and fittingly needed seven rounds of a shootout to finally determine a winner Saturday at the Onondaga County War Memorial.

Enver Lisin on his second try against Syracuse goalie Dan LaCosta went to his backhand and buried the puck into the far top corner for the game winner and a 4-3 win by the Rampage.

It was the same shot that Lisin used to beat LaCosta at 6:11 of the third period on a breakaway that gave the Rampage a 3-1 lead.

The Crunch weathered a 21-shot barrage in the first period and thanks to a power play goal by Derek MacKenzie just six seconds after Jon DiSalvatore went to the box for tripping, Syracuse was able to knot the game at 1-1.

In the second period Syracuse turned the tables and beefed up its offense, out shooting the Rampage 15-10, but San Antonio goalie Josh Tordjman kept the Crunch from finding the back of the net.

San Antonio in the meantime added a goal by David Spina on a penalty shot nearly two-minutes into the start of the frame.

Syracuse turned up the heat in the third to tie the game and force overtime.
Joakim Lindstrom pulled the Crunch to within one on a give-and-go with Zenon Konopka at 7:35 and Tom Sesito jammed home a loss puck in the San Antonio crease nearly five minutes later to send the game into overtime.

LaCosta made 41 saves while Tordjman had 33.

3-Stars--No. 1, Bill Thomas (San Antonio), No. 2, LaCosta, No. 3, Tordjman (San Antonio).
