Columbus Assigns Left Wing Alexandre Picard

Syracuse, NY (January 19, 2010) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned left wing Alexandre Picard to the Crunch.
 
Picard, 24, has appeared in 27 games with the Crunch this season and ranks fourth on the club with 19 points (9g, 10a). He has also skated in nine games with Columbus this year, recording 10 penalty minutes. 
 
Picard ranks in the top-10 in a number of categories on the Crunch’s all-time list, including games played (218 – 10th), goals (64 – t-8th), power play goals (29 – 6th) and penalty minutes (422 – 9th). Since the 2005-06 season, Picard has appeared in 67 NHL games, all with Columbus, registering two assists and 58 penalty minutes.
 
A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was selected by Columbus in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
