Columbus Recalls McDonell – Reassigns Nedorost -- Syracuse Signs Lance Galbraith and Kurt Seher

Syracuse, NY, (Wednesday, April 2, 2003)

The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Kent McDonell from Syracuse and reassigned left wing Andrej Nedorost to the Crunch. Syracuse also announced that they signed left wing Lance Galbraith and defenseman Kurt Seher to profession try- out agreements.

McDonell, 24, appeared in 72 games with the Crunch this season, recording 14 goals, 24 assists and 93 penalty minutes. In 176 career Syracuse games, McDonell has recorded 35 goals, 40 assists and 251 penalty minutes. A native of Williamstown, Ontario, McDonell was acquired by Columbus from Detroit for a sixth round pick in the 2003 Entry Draft on August 16, 2000.

Nedorost, 22, appeared in 60 games with Syracuse tallying 13 goals, 19 assists and 81 penalty minutes. In 12 games with Columbus, Nedorost has recorded one assist and four penalty minutes. A native of Trencin, Slovakia, Nedorost was Columbus’ 10th pick, 286th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.

Galbraith, 23, appeared in two games with Syracuse earlier this season, recording one assist and eight penalty minutes. In 56 ECHL games with Augusta and Dayton this season, Galbraith recorded 14 goals, 18 assists and 287 penalty minutes. A native of Brampton, Ontario, Galbraith signed his first professional try-out contract with Syracuse on March 22, 2003.

Seher, 29, appeared in 71 games with Charlotte (ECHL), tallying nine goals, 33 assists and 56 penalty minutes. In 25 career AHL games with Providence, Seher recorded three assists and 14 penalty minutes. A native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Seher was originally Boston’s eighth round, 184 overall, pick in the 1992 Entry Draft.

The Crunch travel to Philadelphia to play the Phantoms tonight at 7 p.m. Crunch action can be heard on SportsRadio 620 WHEN with play-by-play announcer Bob McElligott. Syracuse returns home on Saturday, April 5 to host the Rochester Americans in a 5:30 p.m. match-up. Saturday night is WSEN Team Photo night.
