The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they signed left wing Scooter Smith to an amateur try-out agreement.

Smith, 22, appeared in 39 games with Colgate (ECAC) this season, recording 24 goals, 17 assists and 42 penalty minutes. In 125 career games, Smith has tallied 48 goals, 44 assists and 98 penalty minutes. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Smith was named to the Second Team All-ECAC for the 2002-03 season.

Syracuse returns to the War Memorial at Oncenter on Friday, March 28 to host the Hamilton Bulldogs in a 7:30 p.m. face- off. Friday night is Animal Planet Night, courtesy of Time Warner Cable and Rosamond Gifford Zoo.
