Preparations continue to take place out at the New York State Fairgrounds. The track is nearly level enough now to begin building the "sandbox," which will house the ice surface. That process is expected to begin as early as Monday.

Since this past Monday morning, barriers have been moved into place, protective material has been laid and truck loads of crushed stone have been delivered in order to level out the race track. Truck loads of stone are expected to continue being delivered over the next 1-3 days and will continue to be rolled and leveled. From there a "sand box" will be built on top which will later be the base of the ice surface.
