Columbus Recalls Blake Bellefeuille

Syracuse, NY, (Tuesday, November 27, 2001)

The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Blake Bellefeuille from the Crunch. Bellefeuille will join the Blue Jackets today and be available for tonight''s game at Nationwide Arena against the Phoenix Coyotes. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Bellefeuille, 23, is tied for third on the Crunch in scoring this season with nine points (2- 7) in 21 games. As a rookie last year, he appeared in 50 games with Syracuse and registered 5-5-10 and 18 penalty minutes.

A native of Framingham, Massachusetts, Bellefeuille was a four-year standout at Boston College who signed with the Blue Jackets as a free agent on May 31, 2000. During his college career, he collected 78-96-174 and 163 penalty minutes in 159 games, including 19-32-51 in 41 games as a senior in 1999-00. In 1997, he helped Team USA capture a silver medal at the World Junior Championships. He also set the Massachusetts Division I state record for career scoring with 120-182-302 at Framingham High School.
