HOME TEAM IN CAPS

CRUNCH VS. MANITOBA IN PLAYOFFS: Syracuse leads the best-of-seven series two games to one with a one goal differential being the deciding factor in each game. The Crunch took a two game lead at home with a 1-0 shutout win on Friday, April 21 and a 2-1 overtime victory on Saturday, April 22. Manitoba took a 2-1 decision on Monday, April 24 at the MTS Centre. Centers Dan Fritsche (1g, 1a) and Peter Sarno (2a) and defenseman Aaron Johnson (2a) lead the Crunch with two points a piece. Meanwhile, Centers Josh Green (1g, 1a) and Craig Darby (2a) lead the Moose with two points each. Crunch goaltender Pascal Leclaire has appeared in all three games posting a 0.98 goals against average and a .975 save percentage. Moose goaltender Wade Flaherty has recorded a 1.31 goals against average and a .960 save percentage in his three showings against Syracuse.

REGULAR SEASON CRUNCH VS. MANITOBA: Syracuse finished the regular season series with a 3-1-0-0 record against Manitoba. Defenseman Andy Delmore led the Crunch in head-to-head scoring with eight points (1g, 7a), while left wing Jason Jaffray led the Moose in head-to-head scoring with eight points (4g, 4a). Goaltender Andrew Penner has appeared in three games for Syracuse, posting a 2-1-0 record, a 5.55 goals against average and .849 save percentage. Manitoba goaltender Wade Flaherty has appeared in four games for the Moose posting a 1-3-0 record, 4.54 goals against average and .849 save percentage against Syracuse. Lifetime, the Crunch are 6-1- 1 against the Moose during the regular season.

Crunch Game-Worn Jersey Auction: The Crunch’s 2005-06 game-worn jersey auction is currently ongoing.

Available for the auction this year are the teams’ home jerseys (white color), road jerseys (blue color), third jerseys (red color), theme jerseys, St. Patrick’s Day jerseys and warm-up jerseys. All of the available Crunch jerseys can be viewed on the Crunch’s official website (www.syracusecrunch.com) beginning Friday, March 17

Fans can bid on Syracuse’s 2005-06 game-worn jerseys at remaining Crunch home games or on the Crunch’s official website www.syracusecrunch.com/shop/jersey_auction_new.cfm.

Bids must be made in $20 increments (for example - if current bid is $500, bids of $520, $540, $560, etc... will be accepted).

All winning bids will be notified within 48 hours of the conclusion of the auction. The auction will conclude Wednesday, May 3 at 5 p.m.

Winners are responsible for shipping and handling costs. Jerseys are not autographed.

CRUNCHABLES: Goaltender Pascal Leclaire recorded his first post-season shutout, stopping 32 shots in a 1-0 win over Manitoba on Friday, April 21… Despite having played in 239 career AHL games, defenseman Dustin Wood made his American Hockey League playoff debut on Friday night with Syracuse. Joining Wood in their AHL post-season debuts were defenseman Marc Methot, centers Geoff Platt, Andrew Murray and Joakim Lindstrom, right wing Tyler Kolarik and left wing Alexandre Picard… Centers Ben Simon, Fedor Fedorov and Peter Sarno and defensemen Jeff MacMillan, Jamie Pushor and Andy Delmore each made their Crunch post- season debut on Friday night… Right wing Tyler Kolarik, left wing Alexandre Picard and center Dan Fritsche scored the first playoff goals of their career… Syracuse has scored once at even strength (two power play goals, short handed and even strength), while Manitoba has two even strength goals to their credit, their third coming on the power play.
