The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have released left wing Mike Sgroi from his professional tryout contract.

Sgroi, 28, appeared in 16 games with Syracuse this season, recording 2 goals, 1 assist and 32 penalty minutes. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Sgroi has appeared in 157 career AHL games with Chicago, Utah, Wilkes- Barre/Scranton, Albany and Syracuse, tallying 11 goals, 6 assists and 457 penalty minutes.

The Crunch host Manitoba for Game Two of the North Division Semifinals on Saturday, April 22.
