The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Syracuse University senior basketball player Gerry McNamara will participate in the Crunch’s ceremonial puck drop on Friday, April 21 when Syracuse takes on the Manitoba Moose.
McNamara will also be available for a limited time, in between the first and second periods, to sign autographs.
McNamara, one of the most popular players in Syracuse history, an AP Honorable Mention selection this season and a two time Big East First-Team selection, completed his Syracuse career ranked first in career three-point baskets (400), free-throw percentage (.888) and minutes played (4,781). He was second in career steals (258), third in career assists (648) and fourth in career scoring (2,099). McNamara led the Division I ranks with a consecutive starts streak of 135 games that spanned his SU career. He helped the Orange to the 2003 NCAA Championship and the 2005 and 2006 Big East Conference Tournament titles. Syracuse was 103-32 during his tenure.
The Crunch host Manitoba for Game One of the North Division Semifinals on Friday, April 21.
