Moran Breaks Franchise Point Mark

Syracuse, NY, (Friday, March 25, 2005)

The Syracuse Crunch announced tonight that center Brad Moran set a new franchise career points mark of 232 on Friday, March 25 against Cleveland. Lonny Bohonos (1994- 1998) previously held the mark of 230 points for seven years.

Moran has made his mark on the Crunch’s all-time leaders list. Moran currently holds the top spot in five of the team’s eight categories – points (232), assists (135), power play goals (38), shorthanded goals (9) and games played (322). Additionally, Moran (97) is second behind Bohonos for all-time goals (104) and third behind Bohonos and Brian Loney (14) with 13 game-winning goals.

Moran, 26, leads the team this season with 38 assists, 63 points and 17 multiple point games. In those 17 games, Syracuse is 11-4-1-1. Last season, Moran took the team lead in playoff scoring, recording his 27th and 28th points on May 1, 2004 vs. Rochester.

On January 28, 2002, Moran made his NHL debut @ Dallas and tallied his first NHL goal on January 27, 2004 against New Jersey (Martin Brodeur). Moran has appeared in five career NHL games, all with Columbus, recording one goal, one assist and two penalty minutes. A native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Moran was signed as a free agent by Columbus on June 5, 2000.
