It's Playoff Time!
Boy do those words sound great. And having been on the outside looking in last season, we all appreciate the post-season that much more.
The past couple of months our team has been on what seems like a surreal journey. No matter what player happens to be wearing a Crunch jersey that particular night, he has bought into our old school hockey, smashed-mouthed style of play.
Back during a December "Fan Forum" I remember telling anyone within earshot that I believed once our team reached that elusive .500 mark we'd begin to get things rolling. Well, we're rolling and hopefully not planning on making any stops until the middle of June.
Too often in sports people overuse, or even misuse, the words heart, character and courage. Not with this group of Crunch players. In fact, you can't say it enough.
To be honest, in my 14 years of owning this franchise, I've never been more proud, or impressed by a group of young hockey players like these guys. They epitomize what hard work and dedication is all about, and surely wear their emotions on their sleeves.
Your support both at home and on the road means a lot to all of us, particularly the boys on the ice.
So keep the "House of Pain" rockin' and rollin'. It's playoff time in Syracuse.
