Columbus Steps Up Again - November 29, 2007

Howard Dolgon - President & CEO

Thursday, November 29, 2007

Our partners in Columbus stepped up again.  Big time!

Being proactive in an effort to strengthen our team and at the same time add defensive depth to their organization, the Blue Jackets snagged veteran d-man David Cullen off waivers.  Cullen was heading back to North America after a season in Europe and Columbus seized the opportunity to add a player with his resume to our roster.

In a sense, we've swapped Mikko Maenpaa for Cullen.  No disrespect to Maenpaa, but Cullen has been a proven offensive defenseman at the AHL level, comes with tons of experience and always played well against us when wearing the jerseys of our bitter rivals just up the road.

The point here is that in just two weeks time Columbus has added three quality defensemen to our roster in Cullen, Aaron Rome and Clay Wilson.  They are an interested, active and motivated partner in making OUR team better.  That's all any AHL team can hope for.
